Uri is a passionate lawyer with diverse legal experience across many practice areas. Prior to joining Schleifman Law as an associate in June 2016, Uri was an associate at a boutique civil litigation firm, where he litigated a wide variety of matters, including, employment, RICO, federal securities, civil rights, bankruptcy, tort, wrongful death, fraud, and contract cases, in state and federal courts in New York, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Uri began his legal career focusing on education and disability law. Uri has represented New Orleans public school students in expulsion hearings, as well as D.C. public charter schools, and has continuously sought to eliminate discrimination in inner-city public schools. Uri has represented a variety of clients, including plaintiffs, defendants, individuals and entities, and has worked in a variety of settings, including public interest organizations, schools, law firms, and as in-house counsel.
Uri received his J.D. from Tulane University Law School, graduating summa cum laude in May 2013. Uri also graduated with a B.A. from Duke University in May 2008, where he majored in philosophy and minored in English. Uri loves to write and attributes his success as a lawyer to his ability to analyze, and effectively communicate to others, complex legal issues without losing the “human” component. Uri is an avid hiker, traveler and soccer player.
